Fiji Interisland Ferry

A mix of car and passenger ferries and cargo ships, the ferries to the less-visited islands of Vanua Levu, Taveuni, Lomaiviti Islands, Kadavu and the Lau Islands are a little basic compared to the Mamanuca/Yasawa catamarans. The ships have seating – usually plastic chairs and some share cargo with fuel, fresh produce, animals, building supplies and more. Some of the ships also have passenger cabins for an additional fee with bunk beds.
For current information/schedules, it’s best to contact local representatives. The links below sites are provided for general reference only. Ferry service is subject to weather conditions, holiday schedules, and mechanical breakdowns etc. There may be other ferries available that do not have websites. Contact Locals for further details.
There is a ferry leaving Natuvu Wharf for Taveuni almost daily. The bus leaves Savusavu in the morning and will pick you at SigaSiga Sands approx. 7am. (subject to change without notice. Please confirm times when you buy your tickets. The fare is FJ$ 20pp. (ref. 06/2023) and includes the bus and ferry. The bus leaves Savusavu town, passes right by Sigasiga and takes approx 1 hour 45 min from Sigasiga to Natuvu Wharf. From there you take Drive-On ferry to Taveuni for another hour and a half. You'll probably arrive in Taveuni by around noon – Fiji Time ;-)
